Basketball club Avtodor has signed an agreement with the 60-year-old Serbian specialist Darko RUSSO , who will replace Milos Pavicevich as the head coach of the team.
Russo has 28 years of coaching experience behind him. Over the years, he headed the Serbian KK Partizan Belgrade, the Montenegrin Buducnost Podgorica, the Greek team Apollo, Marusi and Iraklis, the Bosnian Igokea, the Austrian Vienna and the Ukrainian Khimik Yuzhny.
Last season, the Serb was the head coach of Astana. Under his management, the Kazakh team defeated the future VTB United League champion Zenit in St. Petersburg ( 83-69 ) and the 2022 semi-finalist Lokomotiv Kuban at home ( 87-83 ).
In 2019, Russo led the Bahrain national team to the bronze medals in the Gulf Arab Championship.
